Life expectancy: north-south divide
We have now released our barometer for June, this month focusing on the issue of Health. Outlined in the SocietyGuardian we focused our analysis on the lifestyle factors associated with poor health, and found a clear correlation with life expectancy data. Residents in the richest areas of England can expect to live up to 10 years longer than those in less affluent areas - and the gap is widening, according to government figures. >>
School-leaving qualifications in 2007
Our briefing on the current geography of school-leaving skills, using the latest GCSE and NEET figures, has been covered in the SocietyGuardian. The research shows that significant differences in local skill levels remain, and more than half of English local authorities did not reach the national benchmark of 60 per cent of pupils achieving five good GCSEs last year. >>
New Local Knowledge service to be launched this Summer
The latest addition to the Local Knowledge service is e-publishing. This new service will shortly be launched to allow Local Knowledge users to publish their own reports online, using our Local Knowledge data. Reports will initially be available at district level and thereafter for more spatial levels, covering a range of themes. Contact us for further details.

Berkshire's Strategy for Sustainable Economic Prosperity

The State of the London Boroughs
The latest research by Local Futures on the London Boroughs has been published as part of a 'place-shaping tool-kit', in partnership with Capital Ambition (London's Regional Improvement Partnership). The main report was accompanied by a number of supporting documents and aims to assist the LAA and MAA process. >>
