Our data
Local Knowledge contains over 1500 indicators for analysing the characteristics of Britain's cities and localities. Data is drawn from 130 nationally recognised sources and includes unique Local Futures indicators.

Content is held at a regional, sub-regional, local authority district, ward and neighbourhood level. Powerful search engines allow users to quickly locate data and generate outputs.

Data is organised within three broad categories - economy, society, environment - and twenty sub-categories.

  • Economy: scale; productivity; growth; industrial structure; business and enterprise; skills and qualifications; labour market

  • Society: demographics (age; ethnicity; households; migration and change); occupations; prosperity; deprivation; health; crime

  • Environment: housing; commercial & industrial floorspace; transport; local amenities; natural environment
