Local Futures works with organisations and partnerships across Britain. While our work is underpinned by empirical research, we bring the analysis to life in presentations and workshops. Our experienced presenters are trained not only to inform, but also to engage audiences and facilitate discussion, leading to a shared understanding of issues and challenges.
Our staff are available to speak at Conferences, Seminars and Away-Days. Alternatively we can work with the client to structure and shape bespoke ‘local futures’ events.
Issues addressed in our presentations/workshops include:
- The State of the Nation: we present the findings of our annual State of the Nation reports, analysing the state of modern Britain from a geographical perspective – and implications for specific regions and localities.
- The State of Your Area: we draw on our State of the Nation report and other research to present an in-depth analysis of a particular area, benchmarked nationally.
- The Knowledge Economy: we provide an introduction to the knowledge economy and an overarching analysis of local conditions, set within a national context.
- Future Drivers of Change: we highlight some of the key trends and ‘drivers of change’ that will influence the future of regions and localities in Britain.
- Scenarios for the Future: we present our scenarios for the future of Britain and work with clients to apply them to their own area, highlighting implications and impacts.
