The Local Futures Group brings together people from a diversity of backgrounds, with strong reputations in the academic, commercial and policy communities. We are a growing organisation and are always keen to hear from talented people with strong research and commercial interests in the global-local geographies of economic and social change. If you feel you have the skills and attributes to help us succeed then please contact us or forward your CV.

We also encourage people of all ages, experiences and backgrounds to apply for our internship programme. If you think you have something to contribute to the work of Local Futures, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We will shortly be starting the selection for three internships. These are part-time (2 or 3 days a week) and quite flexible. Should you be interested in an internship, please send your CV to recruitment@localfutures.com and specify which internship you are interested in, how many days per week you would be available and for how long. Our internships are not renumerated but we do offer reimbursement of expenses. We aim to make our internships a mutually beneficial experience and we would therefore create a specific, individual programme with you.

The three internships are:

  1. marketing and events - organising events (including all the admin related to it), writing updates for the website, writing letters to potential new clients etc. Familiarity with ACT or any other Customer Relationship Management tool is desirable.
  2. data - quantitative data mining and cleaning, collating Economic Development Strategies and other relevant policies. A good knowledge of Excel is necessary, as is a good understanding of current developments.
  3. website - assisting in the development of our website, eg spry tables. Knowledge of Dreamweaver is desirable but not essential. Experience with Content Management Systems is desirable.
